25 Aug THE GUIDE TO SUSTAINABLE PRINTING
A major misconception about the printing industry is that it is damaging to our world. Although this holds some truth, in our case we are trying everything we can to lower our emissions as well as supporting different charities who stand for a more eco friendly world.
Currently we are proud supporters of The Forest Stewardship Council, The WWF and The Woodland Trust.
What is The Forest Stewardship Council(FSC) and how do we contribute into helping this cause?
The FSC is an independent, non-profit organisation that was established to promote responsible management of the world’s forests.
“Thats great but how do you contribute to the cause?”
We only use paper that has been FSC certified which means that all of what we use is being harvested and produced in a responsible manner.
The Woodland Trust – ‘Planting trees to catch carbon’
We support The Woodland Trust by partaking in their Carbon Capture Programme and we have recently received our Carbon Capture certificate which shows us that between April and June this year we have created 9.62m(squared) of new native woodland in the UK to remove 385kg of Carbon Dioxide.
Other ways of being green –
We also support WWF by donating to them on a monthly basis, and of course we have adopted our very own panda! In addition to this we also make sure we recycle EVERYTHING possible as well as making small changes such as doing multiple deliveries in one run, delivering to businesses by foot where possible and turning off lights when not needed.
All in all we would definitely suggest using a sustainable printing company over any other and do your bit for the planet!
